During election time, politicians are notorious for promising just about anything so that they can be voted into power. Sometimes, they actually keep their word and follow through with their promises. Donald Trump for example, proclaimed that he will “make America great again” by building a great wall on the southern border to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the US. He has kept his word by actively taking every step to ensure that this wall is actually built, even though he is experiencing great opposition from the Democrats and some citizens of America. However, what about the promises that he has not kept? All around the world, from elections in national clubs and organizations to politicians in the general elections, candidates have been known to tweak the truth or outright lie to support their agenda. Elections in the United States are no different, and, during the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump made promises of his own, many of which sparked controversy.
